As the world seems to get crazier and crazier some days, it's great to know that Fort Collins Police Officers are aptly protected.

A local protective-wear maker, Angel Armor, has recently given $193,000 worth of their state-of-the-art Truth Snap rifle plating armor, with funds provided by the T2G Family Foundation.

This armor can protect Fort Collins Police Officers from AK-47 and AR-15 fire, while being lightweight for needed mobility. Anger Armor spoke with 1,500 officers about what they were looking for in protective armor, and comfort and mobility were ranked at the top.

Angel Armor has been headquartered in Fort Collins, on Highway 14, east of I-25 since 2013, founded by the two sons of Curt and Nancy Richardson, who founded Otterbox. It's great that the two sons, Josh and JC, have taken their parents' entrepreneurial drive and put it towards protecting police officers and first responders.

In a press release, Josh Richardson:

This is an incredible gesture and gift [From T2G Family Foundation] to the men and women who serve. The Angel Armor team is honored to provide our product through the T2G Family Foundation’s gift. We’re grateful for everything police officers do for our community every day.

From Fort Collins Police Services Chief Jeff Swoboda:

We're beyond grateful to the T2G Family Foundation for their generous gift that protects our protectors and shows support for their families as well. Tom and Traci's genuine care and consideration for officer safety means more than we can ever express.

From Tom Gendron of T2G Family Foundation:

You make our community safe, you go to work every day to protect and serve. The T2G Family Foundation wanted police officers to know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice
