Colorado City Among The Top 25 Places To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day In The Country
As we get ready to celebrate St. Patrick later this week, this Colorado city ranks Top 25 in the entire country to celebrate St. Patricks Day. We have three in the Top 100, including one in NoCo.
History Of St. Patrick's Day
While most just consider it a day to skip work to drink green beverages or pinch people not wearing green, there is actually a real historical reason why people celebrate St. Patrick's Day each year on March 17th. Irish and Irish Americans celebrate each and every March 17th to honor Patrick, who was a patron saint of Ireland. March 17th is the day he passed away. It started as a more traditional day of horror in Ireland but as Irish immigrants moved to the United States it evolved into more of a celebration of Irish Culture. As of today, over 31 million folks in the United States claim some sort of Irish decent, me included. While there are many great places to celebrate this day in our country, a Colorado city ranks in the Top 25 best places to do it. One Northern Colorado city ranks Top 100.
Colorado City Ranked Top 25 In Country For st. Patrick's Day
Our friends at WalletHub did a survey of the best cities to celebrate this day of Irish culture, and after many years of celebrating this holiday in our great state, it is of no surprise that a Colorado city landed in the Top 25 list of best places to do so. Based on best places to find Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, to best-priced hotels and weather, Denver, Colorado, checks in on WalletHubs Top 200 list at number 24. With a score of 55.43, Denver tops all other Colorado cites as THE place to celebrate St. Patties.
Lakewood, Colorado, checks in at number 58 with a score of 49.95, while Fort Collins checks in at number 88 with a score of 46.5. I'm happy to see Fort Collins on the list, but I've partied many St. Patrick's Days over the years there and we should be way high on this list. Colorado Springs came in just behind FoCo at number 88. Wherever and however you celebrate, celebrate safely this St. Patrick's Day!
