Colorado Subway Restaurants Changing in a Big Way Next Year

In what industry watchers call a “rare switch,” Subway sandwich restaurants in Colorado and beyond will make a big change come 2025.

It’s not the secret bread recipe (or its once scandalous ingredient) that’s changing.

Nor is it the famous "5 dollar footlong" because, while you can still sing the jingle, Subway dumped the deal five years ago. Yeah, FIVE.

But those fountains at the end of the sandwich line, those are changing.

Subways in Colorado and across U.S. Change to Pepsi

Subway is canning Coca-Cola products and changing to Pepsi and its accompanying bevs on Jan. 1, 2025. The rollout will take several months, according to a Subway press release.

The move makes things easier for Subway, as all the snacks and beverages will now come from a single provider.

The new drinks will be Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Mtn Dew, Starry, Tropicana, Lipton, Aquafina, and Gatorade.

Restaurant Business, a business-to-business news site, said the biggest chains rarely switch beverage contracts. It cited the last such news happening in 2018 when Arby’s went the opposite way, selecting Coke over Pepsi.

Subway signed a 10-year contract with PepsiCo. So, the switch will stick for a while.

Its Frito-Lay snack contract was also extended through 2030.
