In a Colorado State football season that was all but stellar, there were some highlights and some players that stood out in 2021, arguably none more than tight end Trey McBride.

He's just the second player in program history to win one of college football's annual individual awards. Greg Myers won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back in 1995.

So yeah, it's only a matter of time until we see Trey's name and number honored at Canvas Stadium alongside Fum McGraw, Eddie Hanna and Greg Myers.

The kid just came to play every single game, every single week...no matter the outcome of the game, you could always count on #85 to bring it every week.

The kid who was born in Greeley and went to high school in Fort Morgan is a shoe in to be playing on Sundays next year it's just a matter of when and where he will go in the NFL Draft in the spring.

I know the Broncos already have a couple of tight ends in Noah Fant and Albert O but what a great story that would be for the local kid to be able to play for the Broncos...he sure would look good in Broncos orange and blue.

Wherever he ends up, we wish him the best...congratulations Trey!
