Know Colorado: Did You Know Denver Has a Gay & Lesbian Flag Football League?
There are over 300 players involved with Denver's Gay & Lesbian Flag Football League, one of the largest in the United States.
I can't say that I knew the league existed until one of the Denver league's captains was featured during the 2022 NFL Draft, when Arizona made the 87th pick. I thought others might have been surprised as well, so I thought I'd write up a story about the DGLFFL.
Established in 2008. the league consists of 7-on-7 flag football.
The league's Mission Statement:
..to foster community through sport and to promote positive social and athletic enjoyment of flag football among the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight allies living in the greater Denver area.
