The Black Hollow Flood claimed four lives in the Poudre Canyon on July 20, 2021. The remains of the last victim were recovered exactly four months later, on November 20.

According to a news release from Larimer County Sheriff's Office, last Saturday around 4 p.m., a resident near the town of Bellevue found what she believed to be human remains while hiking four miles east of Black Hollow Road. Authorities were able to identify the remains as Diana Brown, 57, of San Antonio, Texas.

Brown was the last of four victims to be found, exactly four months after the flash flood. 9NEWS reported that the three previously-identified adults were family members Richard, David and Patricia Brown. The victims were at their cabin on Black Hollow Road when it was swept away following torrential rains in the Cameron Peak Fire burn scar area.

'Following the official identification of the remains as Diana Brown by the Coroner’s Office, we are relieved the Brown family will be able to put her to rest and have closure to the terrible loss they experienced,' Larimer County Sheriff's Office said.

If you drive up the canyon today, you can still see how severe the damage is. I passed through the area on the way to Steamboat last month, and you can still see large pieces of homes, roofs and even appliances in the Poudre River, as well as washed-out bridges. Last September, community members assisted crews in cleaning up the canyon after it was filled with debris, but there's still a long way to go.
