The 3rd Annual Greeley’s Women’s March takes place this Saturday.

Greeley isn’t alone as, this weekend, women’s marches are scheduled all over the world.

This is a big year for women as we celebrate 100 years since we claimed our human right to express our opinions on community and country. In 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified and women won the right to vote.

According to Forbes, for the first time since 2010 and the for the second time in history, women make up the majority of the American work force.

Yet, even in 2020, women fight for adequate child care policies, a lift on the “tampon tax” which calls feminine hygiene products a “luxury”. Additionally, women continue to press for maternity leave equivalent to that of the rest of the world.

This march year’s march is a tribute to the women who came before us and in solidarity with the generations to come.
