How Good or Bad Are Colorado School Systems?
As summer ticks by, most kids are enjoying their day swimming, sleeping, playing games, and not thinking about school. Some parents are counting down the days until their kids have more structure, get an education, and are no longer home all day. Some kids will start school for the first time this fall; some will start new schools after moving to Colorado this summer or as they move up the education ladder. When it comes to school, is Colorado home to good schools, and how does the state's school systems compare to others in the country?
The Best and Worst School Systems in America

As parents, you want your kids to get the best education they can possibly get, and some parents are willing to move to make sure their kids have the best opportunities available. WalletHub recently released a list ranking the states from best to worst school systems in the country. It used two main categories to help rank them, which is quality and safety. Using these criteria, it was determined that Massachusetts has the best school systems in America, with Connecticut being second, and New Jersey rounding out the top three. The state with the worst school systems is New Mexico, with Alaska being the second worst, and Oklahoma rounding out the bottom three. Where does Colorado fall on this list?
How Are Colorado's School Systems?

Colorado is not home to the best schools in the country, but they aren't the worst either. According to the study, Colorado has the 27th best school system, putting it in the lower half of the country, but just barely. Colorado ranks 11th in quality, but where things are scary for parents and students is that Colorado is the fifth worst when it comes to safety at schools. Is this the state's past affecting its ranking, or what makes schools in Colorado unsafe? One good thing the state has going for it is that Colorado has the third highest reading scores in the entire country.
