According to People, a resident in Texas named Katie Ornelas was record shopping and she purchased a vinyl record album. The album was used and she was surprised when she went to put the record on her turntable.

The vinyl album had a sticker that said "Phil and Donna's Wedding." It was a recording of the couple's wedding from 1966. The ceremony and vows were all recorded on vinyl.

How the Denver Couple Was Reunited

Moved by the recording, Ornelas started a mission to find out who this couple was and she wanted to find a way to reach the family.

According to KXAN, Ornelas contacted a news outlet and the daughter of Phil and Donna found an article that talked about Ornelas' journey to return the vinyl record to the right people.

The Schmidt family is incredibly thankful for Ornelas and the effort she put towards reuniting them with one of the most special days of their lives.

The couple moved from Texas to Colorado when Phil retired. The couple sold the majority of their belongings and they unfortunately lost the record because it was in the wrong sleeve.

Hopefully, the recording will be backed up soon. If you know the Schmidt family, we would love to offer to make an audio recording copy of the vinyl record. I have the equipment to do it and I'd gladly do it free of charge.
