The Colorado State Rams put up a solid fight against the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday night but came up on the short end of a 28-16 score on the West Coast.

The Rams started off strong with a big 56-yard touchdown run by Avery Morrow but couldn't hold down the Spartan scoring attack but that didn't mean there weren't some couragous individual performances to recognize.

In addition to Avery Morrow having another strong game, wide receiver Tory Horton had a big game snagging 9 receptions for 196 yards and a touchdown.

So while there is no consolation for great individual performance because football is such a team sport, Coach Jay Norvell's message to his team after the game was pretty spot on:

Great message from a coach for a team that has been through a lot but just keeps fighting, and congratulations to Tory Horton on a great game and being named this week's "Player of the Week."

So a hard-fought game that didn't go the Rams way but now, the team comes home after the last two weeks on the road for THE game, the Border War against Wyoming.

Kickoff is set for 5pm and if you can't make it out to Canvas Stadium, you can catch all of the action on your home for Rams football, K99.
