Miss Colorado Could Be Making History (AGAIN)
While many recent college grads might still be on the job hunt at this point in the year, one recent Colorado State University alum is preparing to possibly make history.
Miss Colorado 2025: CSU Graduate Gabrielle Gramont Heads to Miss America
Earlier this summer, Fort Collins native Gabrielle Gramont took home the title of Miss Colorado.
This 22-year-old collegiate hockey at Colorado State University, obtained a Dual Bachelor's Degrees in Sports Medicine and Psychology, and somehow STILL managed to compete in these pageants.
Pretty impressive, right?

Colorado’s History at the Miss America Pageant
Over the years, only four Colorado women have taken home the coveted title of Miss America:
- Sharon Ritchie in 1955
- Marilyn Van Derbur in 1957
- Rebecca Ann King in 1974
- Madison Marsh 2024
Miss Colorado Madison Marsh Made History in 2024
The latter actually made history herself during last year's competition.
Not only did Marsh become the first Miss Colorado to win the crown in the 21st century, but she is also the first active-duty service member to take the title, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
She is an Air Force 2nd Lt. and Air Force Academy graduate.
Can Colorado Win Back-to-Back Miss America Titles?
In program history, only a few states have cinched the national title in back to back years.
States That Have Won Miss America Consecutively
During the early years of the pageant, contestants could actually compete win the national title multiple times. This happened in 1922 and 1923 with Mary Katherine Campbell of Ohio as well as 1934 and 1935 with Henrietta Leaver of Pennsylvania,
My home state of Pennsylvania actually won three years in a row back in the 1930s!
Mississippi won back to back pageants in the '50s, New York did the same thing in the early 2000s, and New York one three consecutive seasons in a row in the 2010s.
This hasn't happened in the history of Colorado competing in the pageant.
So, could Gramont help Colorado make history? We'll have to wait and see!
We'll make sure to provide you with updates after the pageant is completed in September.
