There are many great sporting goods stores in Northern Colorado. It makes perfect sense why. We have limitless options for outdoor activities. Colorado has some of the best skiing ,snowboarding, camping, and fishing in the country.

We are sad to report that one of the newest sporting goods stores in Northern Colorado is closing after three years in business. This store was one of the best budget-friendly options in the area.

Fort Collins Store Going Out of Business

Second Wind Sports in Fort Collins announced that they are going out of business. They made the announcement on their website. The closure was due to financial issues. The owner states that he has filed for bankruptcy.

January 31 will be the final day of operation for this locally owned business. Second Wind Sports in Fort Collins said they will not be having any final sales and their remaining inventory will be sold as part of the bankruptcy.

How Second Wind Sports Worked

Customers would bring their items to the store. Second Wind Sports would not purchase them, but showcase them and pay the seller after the product was sold. If you have items for sale at Second Wind Sports you should go pick up your items. If you do not pick them up they will be sold and liquidated.

Northern Coloradans React

Northern Colorado residents are expectingly sad about the closure. There has been an ongoing conversation on Reddit. Overall, Northern Coloradans are disappointed. Locals praised the helpfulness, kindness, and welcoming atmosphere.

A majority of the comments were about how they were disappointed that one of the only non-high-end sporting goods stores is now out of business. We wish the owner and the staff nothing but the absolute best for the future.
