Colorado Officer Saves Skunk From Fast Food Cup
I am just going to come out and say it. If you throw out trash anywhere but into the trash can, I judge you. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have seen someone throw random things out the window at a stoplight in Northern Colorado.

Plastic wrappers, cups, cigarette butts, and many other things end up on the roads and in the fields because people are too lazy to be bothered by doing what is responsible. Seeing trash on the roadways is irritating, but seeing wildlife deal with the consequences of people littering and being careless is infuriating.
Parker Police Help Skunk Stuck in Cup
The Parker Police Department posted bodycam footage of what happens when someone throws out trash where it doesn't belong. The early morning footage taken at around 3:30 a.m. on April 27 shows a police officer from the department helping a skunk out of a stinky situation the animal got itself into, all because of litter.
The officer responding to the call arrived to see a skunk with its head stuck inside of a Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers cup. The officer attempted to remove the cup from the skunk using a catchpole; however, that didn't work.
The officer then evaluates the situation, making a call to attempt to pull the cup off of the skunk's head with her bare hand. A couple of tugs on the cup, and the skunk was free from the litter trap.

Thankfully, the skunk scurried off unharmed, away from the officer, and thankfully, not spraying her in the process.
A Reminder to Stop Littering
All jokes aside, this is a good reminder that littering does not just make our community look bad, it can seriously harm wildlife.
The footage was posted to the Parker Police Department's Facebook and can be seen below:
