Broncos Coach Arrested In Denver Has Been Terminated
A couple of weeks ago, a member of the Denver Broncos coaching staff was arrested after an incident with a police officer at Denver International Airport.
Linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite was arrested for suspicion of second degree assault on a police officer, after he allegedly struck an officer who told him he couldn't leave his vehicle in the passenger drop-off area.

When news of his arrest broke, the team said they were aware of the incident and were taking their time to do due diligence gathering all the information before making any decisions on the coach's future with the team.
Their investigation is now complete, and the team has decided with part ways with Wilhoite.
Head coach Sean Payton issued a statement on the situation:
After thorough discussions as an organization, I met with Michael Wilhoite and informed him we have decided to part ways. We recognize the serious nature of the allegations against him and believe this is the best course of action at this time.
I appreciate Michael’s contributions to the Broncos and am confident he will move forward in a positive direction.
The incident happened the day before many of the team's coaches and staff were headed to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine, and the coach was informed when they all returned.
Wilhoite played for the San Francisco 49ers for six seasons before playing his final season with the Seattle Seahawks. After his playing days were done, he became an assistant coach with Payton in New Orleans before two years in Los Angeles, then last season in Denver.
With how well Denver's defense played last year, it will be interesting to see who replaces him as the Linebackers Coach.
