How Do 2025 City Budgets Compare Across Colorado?

Coloradans across the state work hard for their money; part of that money goes to taxes that make up their town's/city's budget for the year. Let's take a look at how some of them compare.

2025 City Budgets Across Colorado

Sure, the more people a city has, the bigger its annual budget is going to be, but I thought it would be interesting to take a look at nearly a dozen city budgets across the state. It gives you the idea of what that city's working with to keep things running.

It was big news in Loveland, when the General Fund of the city's was depleted of $10 million after citizens voted to end the 3% sales tax on food. The city had to slash a lot of things, including the swim beach at Lake Loveland and the 4th of July fireworks

When your local tax dollars go to helping your city run, it can be tough to see things not go the way you'd like. You'll see people being upset that dollars are being used to keep the un-housed (homeless) off the streets, or laugh at how the city is trying to "beautify" an area.

As much as I do care for my town, Loveland, I would not wan to be on the City Council trying to decide where the money (or lack thereof) is going to be spent for a given year. I can barely manage my own household budget, let alone one for Loveland's 80,000 citizens.

A couple of cities in Colorado have budgets that are over $1 billion; that's why city managers and city clerks make the big bucks.
