Homesnacks.com, which bills itself as a site that presents recent data from the Census, FBI, OpenStreetMaps, and dozens of other sources into presentable rankings to help you understand what it’s like to live in communities across the country, released data from 2024 for Colorado in July of 2026.

What Statistics Did Homesnacks.com Look At?

Homesnacks.com used FBI crime data from 2024 for their 2026 report, focusing on 'Violent Crimes per Capita,' and 'Property Crimes per Capita' in cities with more than 5,000 residents. It turns out, Lamar came out as being the 'Safest City in Colorado' according to their research.

They've been around since 2015, and pride themselves on being transparent, using trusted sources, providing data-tested research, and being timely.

Homesnacks also states that Colorado is the second most-dangerous state in the entire USA, coming in behind New Mexico at #1. That seems pretty shocking, to me; you'd think that states like New York or California would outrank Colorado.

While the ten cities are south of I-70, with the state's growing population, it may not be far off that we see cities such as Fort Collins, Greeley, and Loveland make their way onto the list.
