Grabbing a great dinner in Fort Collins often leads people to finding some Mexican food. One Mexican spot that has several locations in Colorado, but started in The Choice City, This restaurant in Fort Collins has been open since 1986, a favorite among locals and visitors with great Tex-Mex, service and (only 3) margaritas.

Rio Grande Mexican Grill has five locations in Colorado: Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, Greeley, and Lone Tree. All of them are great to check out, but the Fort Collins location brings something extra once a week: On most Fridays you'll find a magician on site. It wasn't until the fall of 2025 that I, myself, learned about the magician; I wondered how many others hadn't heard of him being there, either.

I've been to the Fort Collins Rio on many occasions, though it would appear not on a Friday evening. Not on a Friday evening, yet I should say. I'm the kind of person that enjoys live magic; pair that with a tasty burrito and a margarita, how can I resist? How many people, over more than 18 years, has he entertained?

Who is the Magician That Performs at The Rio in Fort Collins?

The magician's name is Cody Landstrom, who's been an entertainer for decades, whether being a musician traveling the country, teamed up in a Vaudeville-style show with partners, or out on his own. His Friday shows at the Fort Collins Rio Grande gets him up close to customers with his "slight-of-hand" tricks and fun. One trick involves sticking a card to the ceiling, apparently. Again, it sounds like a blast that I need to check out.
