While we have many fantastic dining options in Colorado, the parent company of many popular chain restaurants all over our state announced that more than 40 restaurants are closing. How many will be in Colorado?
Popular Restaurant Chain Closing 41 Locations. Will Colorado Be Effected?
It's always a bummer to have a place that you've gone to for years just lock up shop. Losing one of your favorite restaurants is one thing, but losing every location of a certain chain restaurant that you love is another.
Bloomin' Brands, which runs many sit-down restaurants like Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Flemings, and Carrabba's Italian Grill, announced that many of their underperforming locations would cease to operate across the entire country.
Out of those 41 restaurants, over 30 have already closed their doors as of last week, including every Outback location in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and every location in Hawaii. Did we lose any Bloomin'-run restaurants in Colorado?
What Restaurants Are Closing In Colorado?
Of the Bloomin' restaurant roster, we have 6 Bonefish grill locations, including one near us in NoCo in Johnstown, and those all appear to be safe, for now. Colorado has 5 Carrabbas locations, including one in Fort Collins, which all appear to be safe. What about Outback Steakhouse?
Is Outback Steakhouse Closing In Colorado?
While we've lost many Outback Steakhouse locations in Colorado over the last few years, including Fort Collins, Longmont, and Brighton, there are still 12 locations across the state to dine in. As of now, none of the remaining 12 Colorado locations will be affected.
In a statement to CNN, a Bloomin' spokesperson said:
“Closing restaurants is never easy, This was a business decision that has no reflection on the staff or their service. Many team members will have the opportunity to transfer to open positions at another restaurant. Employees who do not will receive severance.”
Even after closing so many locations, Bloomin' has plans to re-launch nearly 18 new redesigned restaurants across the U.S. in 2024.
