The Greeley Stampede isn’t the oldest Colorado rodeo, but most of us would be ok with you calling it the largest. The event draws hundreds of thousands of fans for PRCA rodeo events, concerts, demolition derbies, carnival rides, and the signature Greeley Fourth of July celebration. This year’s stampede is scheduled from June 24 to July 5.

Smaller Colorado Rodeos That Deserve More Attention

While the big events draw national attention, smaller rodeos often deliver the most authentic Colorado experiences. If this is what you’re looking for this summer, check out the Plateau Valley Heritage Days in Collbran, the Evergreen Rodeo, the Rooftop Rodeo, and the Deer Trail Rodeo. These events are all hosted by tight-knit communities whose traditions are rooted deeply in local Colorado ranching culture.
