Places like The Fort in Morrison have been rated as one of the most underrated spots in the entire state. They’ve been serving up some elite steaks for over 60 years.
Many underrated places in Colorado have gotten national attention on shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Recently, he visited the Bohemian Biergarten in Boulder, and business has been booming ever since.
However, a place that was featured on Triple D suddenly closed down, leaving its loyal patrons hoping for a return.
Colorado’s Best Mom and Pop Restaurant, CoraFaye’s Cafe in Aurora, Temporarily Closes
CoraFaye’s Cafe is an absolute favorite amongst its loyal fans in Aurora, and is an absolute hidden gem. However, for the time being, it will be closed.
The cafe has been serving up soul food for over 15 years, and was recently listed as Colorado’s best mom and pop restaurant in the entire state.
They mention that the restaurant’s owner, Priscilla Smith, named it after her mother, Cora. She has since created some delicious Southern soul food that includes frog legs, pork chops, catfish, and po’ boys.
You might be wondering why such a beloved restaurant is closing down. According to a Facebook post, they experienced a brutal kitchen fire that shut down their business.
In the post, they ask their patrons to, “Keep us in your thoughts”, as they recover from the tragedy.
It has some rave reviews on both Yelp and Google, and clearly serves its community in a truly outstanding way.
Let’s hope they can get back as soon as possible, and to support them the best we can once they return.
