
Johnstown Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile
Mosquitoes collected in three Weld County towns have tested positive for the West Nile virus. The blood-sucking insects were collected on August 3 and August 10 in Johnstown, Milliken, and Platteville.

The type of mosquito that is known to carry the virus is the Culex mosquito, and officials are finding an above-average number of them. According to the Greeley Tribune, there are no human cases of West Nile in Weld County and only one case has been reported in the state of Colorado this year.
