Tragedy Strikes Famous Colorado Band as Member Reported Missing
Unfortunately, it has been reported that one of the members of the popular group, as well as his son, has been struck by a recent tragedy and the outcome is looking quite grim.
Who is the Colorado-Based Jam Band Lotus?
Lotus is a band that is currently based in Denver, Colorado as well as Philadelphia, but formed back in 1999 in Indiana. The band has released over a dozen studio albums and was last comprised of guitarist Tim Palmieri, bassist Jesse Miller, drummer Mike Greenfield, guitarist/keyboardist Luke Miller, and percussionist Chuck Morris.
However, a recent statement from the band reveals that the aforementioned percussionist Morris fell victim to what was most likely a fatal kayaking incident while accompanied by his son and, tragically, both are presumed dead.
What Happened to the Colorado Musician?
It's been said that Morris and his family were on a trip near Fayetteville, Arkansas this past St. Patrick's Day weekend when he and his son Charley decided to go kayaking.
After the pair failed to return hours later, a search party was assembled, and after an afternoon of thunderstorms and high winds, a kayak and a jacket were recovered but with still no sign of the missing father and son.
As of Tuesday, March 21st, the rescue mission became a recovery mission as the parties involved feared the worst.
Morris' bandmates later released a statement and a Go Fund Me has been set up to benefit Morris' family in this unimaginably difficult time.
