McWhinney Real Estate Services Inc., a Loveland developer, has plans for a new 200,000-square-foot on the McWhinney’s Baseline development in Broomfield, and the center would be leased to Amazon Inc.

According to BizWest, the proposed delivery hub would sit on nearly 54-acres between Huron Street, W. 160th Ave., Interstate 25 and Northwest Parkway.

Homes in Broomfield are built as close as 800 feet from the planned delivery center.

Amazon has three centers in the Denver metro area including a 2.4 million-square-foot location in Thornton, a 1 million-square-foot location in Aurora and a 123,000-square-foot operation in Loveland’s Centerra development.

The proposed Broomfield Amazon center would be the last stop between larger regional distribution centers and the drivers for delivery.

The facility will be 24/7 with approximately 300 workers for package sorting and several more hundred for truck and van drivers.
