The 19th Judicial Grand Jury, along with the Weld County District Attorney's Office and the Greeley Police Department, will investigate the case of Jonelle Matthews, who went missing in Greeley 35 years ago.

According to a press release from the Weld County Office of the District Attorney, Matthews disappeared from her parents' home on December 20, 1984, when she was 12 years old.

Little came of the case until 2019, when authorities discovered her remains in a rural Weld County field.

Due to the rules surrounding grand jury secrecy and the active status of the investigation, no more information is available at this time.

However, the release did note that the investigation will take place over the coming months.
