Soft, warm, tasty, and sometimes a little bit salty or sweet -  nothing beats biting into a salivating big pretzel. But where are the best spots to snack on a soft pretzel in northern Colorado?

In no particular order, here's a list of 10 of the top places to visit to satisfy a soft pretzel craving. These results were compiled from Yelp, Reddit, and local sources and purposely excluded national chains like Auntie Anne's and Pretzelmaker.

1. ) CooperSmith's Pub & Brewing

Treat your tastebuds to the giant soft pretzel at CooperSmith's, paired with flavorful green chili beer cheese to dip. It's easy to see why the pretzel is one of the most popular appetizers ordered at this Old Town establishment.

2.) Gilded Goat Brewing Company

Locals love imbibing in the delicious Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese at Fort Collins' Gilded Goat Brewing Company. The doughy pretzels are hand-made from scratch by a local Denver business called Styria Bakery II.

3.) Social

Don't sleep on Social's big, Bavarian pretzel. First brushed with butter, the appetizer is then topped with rosemary sea salt, and paired with a house-made brie mustard. Plus, it's guaranteed to go well with any cocktail on the menu.

4.) The Mayor of Old Town

Soft pretzels are a celebrated commodity at the Mayor of Old Town. Between 3-5 p.m. every Friday, all patrons receive a free pretzel with the purchase of an adult beverage. The original salted pretzel is served with a black and tan cheese sauce and German mustard. There's also another soft pretzel on the menu that's stuffed with jalapeño cream cheese and paired with raspberry jalapeño dipping sauce.

5.) Ginger and Baker

As expected, the salted soft pretzel at Ginger and Baker is just as killer as the rest of their hand-made baked goods. It's plated along with a side of Fat Tire beer cheese dipping sauce and customers truly love this local pairing.

Otto Pint may be known for their pizza, but starting out your meal with a house-favorite stuffed pretzel is a definite must. The insides are stuffed with gooey, melty, pepper jack cheese and then served with beer mustard for dipping. Big pretzels are also $2 off every day between 3-6 p.m. at Otto Pint.

This artisan Fort Collins bakery knows how to whip up larger-than-life, top-notch soft pretzels. While not always available in-store, the Bread Chic also offers their fresh pretzels for sale at the Fort Collins Farmers Market.

Lots of love goes into making the batches of soft pretzels at Just a Pinch Bakery. Served hot and fresh, these mouth-watering pretzels are arguably the best in Loveland!

The Regional features more of an upscale twist on a basic soft pretzel. Their house-baked big pretzel is made with Hazel Dell mushrooms, fontina and pecorino cheese, and white truffle oil. The vegetarian option can be found on the Regional's happy hour menu.

Whether it's Oktoberfest or not, the Bavarian pretzels at Jessup Farm Barrel House always hit the spot. They are served warm with the choice of a mustard duo, Nutella, or pub cheese on the side for an additional cost. Perfect to share with friends while sitting on the patio!
