Why Are They Loading In 26 Million Pounds Of Dirt Into The Broncos’ Stadium?
Crews have been busy hauling in 26 MILLION pounds of dirt into Empower Field at Mile High (video below). What's going on? Here's what's up in the Denver Broncos Stadium for the next two weeks.
Crews Loading In 26 Million Pounds Of Dirt Into Empower Field
If you've been to a Denver Broncos game, or any other events at Empower Field at Mile High, (or if you're old school like me, Mile High Stadium) you know just how massive it is. Putting on a concert there, covering up the turf is one challenge, but turning into a giant motorsports track is a whole different animal. That's what crews have been doing all week to get ready for back-to-back dirt track events at Empower Field at Mile High.
Monster Jam and AMA Supercross In Denver
After a 3-year hiatus due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, Monster Jam and the Monster Energy AMA Supercross are back in Denver and host back-to-back weekend events at Empower Field at Mile High. We went to the very first Monster Jam show ever held at Mile High back in 2019, and let me tell you, it was a spectacle. Having only really seen the larger-than-life trucks indoors, I never really go to see what they could really do. That event changed my son and I's love for Monster Trucks forever. As seen in the video below from 9News, crews have been preparing for their return and have unloaded 500 dump trucks of dirt to cover up the field and create the obstacles for Grave Digger and the rest of the amazing Monster Jam line-up for the show taking place on Saturday, April 23rd at Empower Field. The following Saturday, April 30th, the dirt in the arena will be slightly altered to get ready for the all-day Supercross event that begins at 12:30 pm.
Tickets are still available for both events, so get out and head down to see some insane dirt sports action in the Mile High city over these next two weekends. Speaking of Monster Jam...Check out these sick pix of the last time Monster Jam was in Colorado
