15 Candy Sweethearts Mural Sweetens Wall in Downtown Loveland

Another mural has popped up in Downtown Loveland, in what is knows as Sweetheart Alley. How fitting is it the, that the mural be made up of sweetheart candies?

They've done a lot of work at the southeast corner of 5th Street and Cleveland, creating The Cleveland Station. Loveland's new, hip, honkytonk, Tom Davis Saloon is a part of it, and a new brewery is almost ready to open there, too.

Also new, is this new mural that's been created on The Cleveland Station's southern most wall.

Before they started construction on Cleveland Station, there was a great 3-D mural on the northern most wall, but that's where there's patio seating now for Tom Davis Saloon. So, this new mural helps to balance out that loss.

It was created by a duo, Moonrise Murals, who have done a couple of other murals in the area, and was commissioned by the Boulder real estate firm which owns the building.

I went out to get an up close look at the mural and get some photos of it. There are 'technically' 15 of the conversation hearts, if you count the one that's sort of 'blocked' by the the Boulder firm's 'space available' sign.

Maybe people will take 'selfies' with the hearts closer to the ground; it could make a nice part to a great date in The Sweetheart City. On the other hand, what great targets these hearts make for the heartbroken, wielding rotten tomatoes.
