Colorado Eagles Sweep Silver Knights, Hosting Ontario in Start of Second Round
Eagles Country, are you ready for round two?
After a decisive 5-2 win last night, giving the Colorado Eagles a 2-0 sweep over the Silver Knights, the Eagles have advance to round two of the playoffs.
Even better, round two will kick off, once again, on home ice.
Colorado had a quick jump out of the gate on the night, scoring two of their five goals in the opening period of play. Unfazed after Henderson got on the board, the Eagles went ahead to score two more unanswered goals before Henderson brought the deficit up to 4-2.
Just to put even more of a pin on the knight, the Eagles buried their fifth goal of the night in an empty Silver Knights goal.
So, back to home ice next week it is! The Eagles will be hosting the Ontario Reign in a best of five series with the first two games of the match-up played right here in the BEC.
The Eagles hold a 4-1 record against Ontario in April alone in just the last five times the two teams have faced off. The Eagles will be looking for yet another potential series sweep - one that would mean a series ending on Ontario's home ice. Here is the playoff schedule between the Eagles and the Reign:
- Game 1: May 11, at Colorado, 7:05 p.m. MT
- Game 2: May 13, at Colorado, 7:05 p.m. MT
- Game 3: May 15, at Ontario, 9:00 p.m. MT
