Say What?! Colorado Majorly Snubbed on Best National Parks List
Colorado's four national parks — Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and Mesa Verde — are renowned for their stunning beauty.
However, this beauty apparently isn't enough to get the Centennial State's national parks high up on a list of the best in the U.S.
You read that correctly. We've been snubbed.
CasinoBonusCA recently analyzed visitor feedback from the National Parks Service (NPS) to see which parks people enjoy visiting the most — and Colorado's don't even make the Top 20.
Rocky Mountain National Park shows up first at No. 22, with nearly 76% of visitors ranking it "very good." Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park makes the next appearance all the way down at No. 44 with a "very good" rating of 67.53%.
Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve barely hangs onto the end at No. 54 with a 58.46% "very good" rating — and Mesa Verde National Park isn't even on the list.
You may think these rankings aren't too bad, but considering Colorado is famous for its national parks, you'd think we'd at least crack the Top 10. Instead, CasinoBonusCA reports that states like West Virginia, South Carolina, Wyoming, and South Dakota are showing us up.
We're not blaming Colorado, though.
From Rocky Mountain's plethora of elk to Mesa Verde's captivating history, we know our national parks have a lot to offer — the NPS visitors are clearly the ones missing something.
