Interstate 25 is excepted to be closed near Loveland for several hours on Saturday (March 20) morning.

The Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and the Colorado Department of Transportation report that a diesel tanker rolled over, spilling 11,000 gallons of diesel fuel across the roadway.

The temporary closure is expected to last into Saturday afternoon and impacts both directions between exits 255 and 257. Find alternate routes if possible. Detours are in place.

Some of the nearby frontage roads are also impacted by the spill.

Authorities reported first responding to the incident around 1:12 a.m. were they extricated the driver and put out the engulfed diesel fire. Fortunately, the driver is only reported to have suffered "minor injuries" in the incident.

The Front Range Fire Rescue and the Poudre Fire Authority are also assisting with the hazardous materials cleanup.
