Don’t Wing It: Here’s Your Northern Colorado Chicken Wing Guide
Today is a very important national holiday.
July 29 is National Chicken Wing Day, arguably one of the greatest days of the year.
Some might say that National Chicken Wing Day is also the Superbowl (which isn't entirely far-fetched) - because, as far as I'm concerned, on Super Bowl Sunday and on national holidays like National Chicken Wing Day, calories don't count.
According to the official National Chicken Wing Day website, it's been a thing since 1977, when it was first proclaimed by Stan Makowski, former mayor of Buffalo, NY.
Chicken wings themselves didn't become a thing until the early 1960s, the website says. Prior to that time, they were something cooks threw in the stock pot to make soup. But two Buffalo restaurants saw their potential.
I don't know about you, but I plan on ditching the diet for today and using this day as an excuse to indulge in one of our country's finest delicacies and to do so happily (that means with no regrets).
Whether it's Super Bowl Sunday, National Chicken Wing Day, or any day - there is never a bad time to indulge in some juicy, delectable, incredible chicken wings.
Aside from the fact that we have a wide variety of food options in Northern Colorado, there are several places to visit to get your wing fill.
