Things are opening back up here in Northern Colorado, and yes, that means our favorite family-friendly excursion: Elitch Gardens Theme and Family Water Park is reopening its gates to season pass holders and soon, the general public.

According to CBS 4, on Saturday, April 24, the theme park allowed season pass holders to visit, despite a few notable safety changes taking place. To name a few, masks are mandatory within the park, 6-foot social distancing markers are present in queue areas, and the park is only allowing 18% of its original capacity: around 3,200 guests at a time.

So, when will the general public be allowed to attend?

Saturday, May 1, is the official open date for the general public. When you head to Elitch's website, you'll notice that there's a disclaimer before you're able to purchase your tickets with several things for guests to remember. One important one:

All guests with day ticket or a Season Pass must reserve a date for their visit. Admission is not guaranteed without reservations.

The park also wants you to know that they will not allow anyone in who is currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and will mandate mask usage throughout the park. Read more about the requirements to attend the park right here.
