You may want to think twice before lighting the fuse on a mortar, bottle rocket, firecracker, or any firework that has been deemed illegal in Greeley. According to a  from the Greeley Fire Department fines could cost you up to $1,000.

The Greeley City Council voted on June 7 to amend the ordinance regarding the possession and use of fireworks within the city limits of Greeley. The amendment to the ordinance went into effect on June 15, 2022.

The Fines For Illegal Fireworks Has Changed

The increase up to $1,000 per fine is not the only change in the ordinance. The fine now applies to people who allow others to possess or use illegal fireworks on the property. This means that the fine isn't just imposed on individuals that are setting off the illegal fireworks.

Any fireworks that leave the ground are deemed illegal in the city of Greeley. The list of illegal fireworks includes firecrackers, roman candles, shells, rockets, M-80s, and more.
