JB's Drive-In located at 2501 8th Avenue in Greeley has been an iconic landmark in the city for 84 years. If you were hoping to make a trip to the Greeley drive-in this summer, you are out of luck. The Denver Post is reporting that JB's Drive In will be closed for at least the remainder of 2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic is not the reason for the year-long closure. The business model that JB's Drive In runs allows for social distancing while enjoying a meal in your vehicle. The decision to close for 2021 hinges on the health of the family as well as issues related to staffing the drive in.

This is not the first time that the Greeley drive-in has closed for an extended period of time. During World War 2, there was a meat and sugar shortage in 1942. At this time in history, Jess' Sandwich Shop, what we now know at JB's Drive In closed for over a year.

Those of us that have made memories at JB's Drive In are sincerely hoping that they will return strong and healthy in 2022.
