As the Corona virus spreads across the country, Colorado sports are being affected on a local and national level.

The National Basketball Association has postponed the rest of their season after a player on the Utah Jazz tested positive for the Corona virus yesterday. Nuggets coach Mike Malone said "I'm not sure what this means" immediately following the game last night. See the coaches remarks in full by watching the video below.

The Avalanche and Rockies have not made any announcements as of Thursday morning, March 12. However, other major league baseball teams have announced they are cancelling games, including opening day ceremonies. The Seattle Mariners released this statement after making changes.

While we hope to be back to playing baseball in Seattle as soon as possible, the health and safety of our community is the most important consideration. We will provide more information about our plans for the games as it becomes available.

The National Hockey League Players Association said this yesterday:

The national leagues aren't the only ones being affected by this virus, local sports are taking a hit as well.

Yesterday, the CHSAA announced only "essential team personnel" at the state tournament games.

From a press release:

Logistically, and with the state tournaments set to begin in less than 13 hours, this goal of social spacing is beyond the scope of our host facilities.
