Ever since the dawn of the Rocky Mountain Showdown, the people of Fort Collins have loved to poke fun at our neighbors in Boulder. Now, a new survey has just given them extra ammo.

According to an Instagram poll from @mattsurelee, the most overrated city in Colorado is indeed Boulder. The so-called "People's Republic" joined the ranks of cities like Jackson, Wyoming, St. George, Utah, and Sante Fe, New Mexico.

@mattsurelee based the results on the opinions of his followers, so the survey may not be entirely accurate. However, I must admit that I am a Colorado State University alum, so I'm happy to take this data in full stride.

Some commenters on the survey agreed with me.

I was really looking forward to [visiting] Boulder, and I was very disappointed. Usually college towns are super fun and hip, but Boulder wasn't.

The town is basically $400 a night Disney village next to the highway.

Others came to Boulder's defense.

Boulder? No way! Just hating on them [because] it's always ranked #1.

I'm a basic b*tch who loves Boulder.

Many shared what they think Colorado's most overrated city truly is. The other contenders? Denver, Vail, Breckenridge, and Crested Butte.

Regardless of the survey's accuracy, I say to my fellow Fort Collins friends: enjoy this victory. To our Boulder neighbors: don't worry, we're just joshin'.
