New Restaurant Alert: NY-Style Pizzeria Coming to Old Town Fort Collins
We thought we knew who had the best pies in Northern Colorado, but another pizzeria is throwing its hat in the ring.
Rumors about the new restaurant began spreading in March, and now, it's almost here.
According to a press release, The Corner Slice, a New York-style pizza restaurant, is opening its second location in Fort Collins. The eatery's owner, Bryan Baker, has run the pizzeria's original locale in Steamboat Springs since 2018.
The Choice City can expect some good eatin'. The Corner's Slice's website states that it serves "true New York-style pizza" with "Colorado freshness" to create a pizza "second to none."
"Fort Collins is an ideal home for our second spot. The community, location, and walkable downtown made the choice an easy one," said Baker in the release. "We're looking forward to serving our incredible pizza and local drinks to hungry and thirsty patrons."
The eatery is taking over the former Spoons space in Old Town at 172 North College Avenue in the Northern Hotel. Customers can try their first "Corner Slice" at the Grand Opening on July 1.
Although the pizzeria originated in Steamboat, Baker wants this location to be unique to Fort Collins.
Sales from a rotating menu item known as "Bruce's Philanthropic Pie," named after the late Brooklyn pizza parlor owner Bruce Wasserman, go towards local charities — and proceeds from the Old Town shop will benefit Fort Collins non-profits.

"Fort Collins is a natural location for us because Northern Colorado has long been a place we call home," said Baker. "Come on down to your new neighborhood pizzeria!"
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce has been guiding The Corner Slice team, which will have eight to 15 full-time employees, since the beginning of this year. Soon, the eatery will offer pizza, craft beer, a full bar, and "occasional" music for the Choice City.
