Starting this week, you'll have to stick to Campus West to get your soup, salad, and sandwich fix.

On Monday (Sept. 13), Spoons announced the closure of its Old Town Fort Collins location. According to an Instagram post from the restaurant, the change is due to the retirement of the chain's longtime owner, Tom Stoner.

"While we are grateful for the support of the Downtown community to help us keep our doors open through COVID, the time has come to say goodbye to this location," read the post.

Thankfully, the eatery isn't leaving the Choice City altogether. Mike Howland, the owner of Gib's Bagels, will be taking over the company on Friday (Sept. 17), propelling it to "new levels."

"Tom, Mike, and their teams have been working closely to make sure this transition is seamless as the two share many core values and goals for the company," said the post. "The Stoner family would like to thank the Fort Collins community for a wonderful run over the last 18 years and wish Mike and the Spoons team the best as they move forward."

Stoner founded the restaurant in 2003, hoping to create "the best soup restaurant in the world." Since then, the chain's ever-changing menu and locally sourced ingredients have become Fort Collins staples.

While the eatery's time in Old Town is coming to an end, you can still enjoy Spoons at its four other locations. The restaurant also operates on Timberline Road, Link Lane, and Campus West — plus, you can find an additional location in the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University.
