Thompson School District Providing Vaccine Opportunities for Children Ages 5-11
After the FDA officially approved Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in the age group of 5 to 11, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment followed suit.
Because of the new approval, Thompson School District is going to be partnering with state and local officials to help families similar to the process that was instated when the vaccine was approved for ages 12 and up.
Their goal is to connect families with children in the 5 to 11 age range with opportunities for the vaccine if they so choose.
Thompson School District was also very clear in stating that the vaccine is currently not required for staff or students and remains completely optional.
Through their partnership with state and local officials, Thompson School District has provided vaccination clinics available to families with children 5 years or older that they wish to vaccinate with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
Reportedly, the State of Colorado's mobile vaccination bus is also partnering with Thompson School District in order to provide on-site vaccination service twice weekly from Nov. 9 through the end of the year.
