The Weld County Sheriff's Office notified the public of two sexually violent predators now living within Weld County in a Facebook post on Friday (Jan. 8).

According to the post, Christopher Celestino, a 51-year-old man designated a sexually violent predator, has moved into a home with a Briggsdale address; James Sidener, a 70-year-old man who is also considered a sexually violent predator, has moved into an assisted living home in Greeley near Linn Grove Cemetery and Bella Romero schools.

Christopher Celestino recently moved to a home at 39290 Weld County Road 74 near Briggsdale. He was convicted of four counts of attempted sexual assault of a child.

Celestino works as a mechanic and drives a black Chevy truck and a black Chevy SUV. He is currently under the supervision of the Colorado Department of Parole.

James Sidener recently moved to the Birch Assisted Living facility at 1819 Birch Ave in Greeley. He was convicted of attempted sexual assault of a child.

Sidener does not own a vehicle and is unemployed. He is not under parole or probation supervision.

According to the Greeley Tribune, sexual predators or specified sex offenders may not establish a permanent or temporary residence within 300 feet of any school, park, recreational center or swimming pool, according to Greeley’s municipal code. The facility where Sidener is currently residing is about 1,600 feet from the Bella Romero Academy 4-8 campus.

As of Friday (Jan. 8), there are approximately 257 registered sex offenders in Weld County and 19,929 registered sex offenders statewide.
