Colorado's first Art-o-mat brand dispenser was installed in Denver's Access Gallery in 2012 and has been a hit ever since. The retired cigarette-vending machine dispenses $5 palm-sized pieces of art, including items like earrings and intricate collages. Half of the machine is stocked with work by professional artists from Colorado and around the country and the rest of filled with art created by teens with disabilities. The featured artists receive fifty percent of the sale. There are now more than 100 of these machines across the country.

University Bicycles in Boulder installed a convenient cycling-themed vending machine that's open 24/7. The machine offers items like gels, energy bars, CO2 cartridges, tubes, cycling caps, gloves, lights, chain lube, multi-tools, and more. The owners were considering adding condoms and doobies to the Pearl Street contraption too. According to bicycling.com, the popular vending machine paid for itself in approximately one year.

A Healthy, Gourmet Meal

Front Forty's unique vending machine concept makes farm-to-table meals accessible to all people. The machine dispenses healthy, ready-to-eat meals that come in compostable or recyclable packaging. Prices range from $5 to $10 depending on the dish. Some options include quinoa salads and vegan doughnuts. The machine is located inside the Stanley Marketplace at 2501 N. Dallas St. in Aurora.

Socks and Other Local Souvenirs

This is another colorful vending machine that lives in the common area of Aurora's Stanley Marketplace. It was installed by the owners of Velvet Wolf and Little Wolf boutiques. The funky-chic machine, hand-painted by Denver artist So-Gnar, is filled with a variety of items created by local artists and makers. Some of the souvenirs inside include magnets, Colorado-themed jewelry, and socks.
