Budweiser Events Center To Host NCAA D1 Hockey Games This Week
After being canceled due to ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Budweiser Events Center will once again host the annual NCAA D1 Men's Regional Ice Hockey Tournament.
About The NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Tournament
The 2022 Division I Men’s Hockey Championship gives 16 D1 college hockey teams a chance to compete in a single-elimination tournament
At each regional site (i.e; the BEC), four teams will compete in a single-elimination Regional Semifinal competition. The winners of each match will then compete against each other in a single-elimination Regional Final competition at the same regional site.
The winning team from each of the 4 Regionals will advance to the Frozen Four in Boston, MA.
The NCAA D1 Men's Ice Hockey West Regional Brackets were announced during Selection Sunday over the weekend (Sunday, Mar. 20).
In partnership with the University of Denver & Colorado Eagles, the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO will host four of the top NCAA hockey programs in the nation for two semi-final games and one regional championship game during the 2022 NCAA D1 Men's Ice Hockey Tournament.
When Will The Games Be Played + Who Is Playing?
As per a Mar. 21 press release via the Colorado Eagles, all tournament games at the BEC will be held on Thursday, Mar. 24 & Saturday, Mar. 26.
Thursday, March 24 will feature two semi-final games, including:
Minnesota - Duluth (2) vs. Michigan Tech (3) at 1 p.m.
University of Denver (1) vs. UMass - Lowell (4) at 7 p.m.
The winners of each semi-final game will advance to the Regional Final Game on Saturday, March 26; an exact game time has yet to be announced.

This will be the last time the BEC hosts the collegiate-level tournament until 2026.
