With weather moving through parts of Colorado creating icy conditions on roads and sidewalks, CSU has taken heed of the National Weather Service's advice and decided to close campus at 3 p.m. today (Jan. 19).

Following in suit of CU Boulder, which canceled all classes after 10 a.m., CSU has acknowledged that the treacherous conditions will only continue to get worse as the day goes on.

Additionally, classes between now and campus shut down at 3 p.m. have been canceled in order to discourage students and employees from traveling to CSU in the current conditions.

According to the Weld County Government, several accidents have occurred throughout the day on Highway 119, as well as several accidents throughout Larimer County and along I-25.

Currently, nearly all of Northern and Northeastern Colorado is under a winter weather advisory. The "light freezing drizzle" is expected to last until 8 o'clock tonight.

The CSU men's basketball game against New Mexico that is scheduled for 8 p.m. is still set to be held on time as it is set for after the expected expiration of treacherous conditions.

We will continue to update this story should any conditions or closures change.

Update: The City of Fort Collins will also be canceling any classes starting after 3 p.m. today (Jan. 19).
