You know what they say about April showers, and right now, it's not just rain showers. According to the National Weather Service, after a milder, sunny weekend in the Fort Collins area, there is a good chance that next week will start off with a mix of rain and snow showers. ...Sorry.

This is your cue to spend some time enjoying the outdoors this weekend. The National Weather Service says that Saturday will be mostly sunny, and while Sunday is expected to reach a high near 60 degrees, overnight, we could see a mix of rain and snow showers into Monday morning.

Monday afternoon is 'likely' to also have some snow showers lasting through Tuesday morning. The chance of rain and snow showers is foreseeable until at least Thursday of next week. You can see the full forecast from the National Weather Service here.

According to 9NEWS, this week's brief spring snowstorm only dropped around two inches of snow in the Fort Collins and Loveland area and less than two inches in Greeley. The Denver area saw slightly more, getting a little over five inches. That's nothing compared to this date last year, when Fort Collins got over one foot of snow.

While we're nearing the end of the snowy season in Colorado, there's still a chance of snow up until June (yes... June).
