Happy October! Now, let's talk Christmas.

I know, it seems like September came and went, and it's not even Halloween, but come on. There's a chill in the air, so it's not too early to start planning for Christmas!

With the shut down of the Greeley Grizwalds Christmas Light Show after 18 years, you're going to need a new placeholder for your holiday must-see. And Gaylord Rockies Resort has just that.

Gaylord Rockies has revealed their brand new Christmas experience, featuring 'Elf'. The event will run from November 19, 2021, through January 2, 2022.

The multisensory experience "Mission: Save Chrismas featuring 'Elf'" was created in collaboration with Warner Brothers Themed Entertainment. Guests of all ages will answer the call from Santa with Buddy the Elf to power Santa's sleigh with enough Christmas cheer.

It's an interactive experience that will bring guests straight into Buddy's world with hands-on challenges, like a snowball fight in a virtual Central Park.

Why mess with the real-life holiday traffic in New York when you can get the Central Park experience right in Aurora, Colo.?

In addition to saving Christmas, Gaylord Rockies Resort is offering a whole trove of other holiday experiences. For 62 performances, Cirque Dreams Holidaze with be putting on a show at the bubly theater.

It's fun for the entire family as the show mixes Broadway musical styles with contemporary circus aspects.

Even more hands-on, the resort will have Ice Bumper Cars - as if bumper cars weren't controlled chaos enough - as well as ice skating, snow tubing, snowdrift mini-golf (which will probably be my favorite), and a merry go round. All of this will be located in its own winter wonderland spot: Glacier Point.
