Larimer County initiated another mask mandate on October 20, 2021; a plan that that they hadn't yet initiated for businesses to be 'exempt', was met with scorn.

It's one of those things that probably sounded better on paper than it does in implementation.

WHAT WAS THIS 'EXEMPTION' PLAN?

The 'Verified Vaccine Facility' plan: If the business could show that all staff are vaccinated AND would only be allowing vaccinated persons inside, they wouldn't have to be a part of the mandate.

Even writing it out like that makes it sound kind of 'sketchy' to me. Because, right there, they'd be wanting people to show proof of vaccination. Which, I know that I myself have seen, sets people 'off.'

According to The Coloradoan, Larimer County Department of Health & Environment

This plan was going to go into effect on November 1, 2021; for now, it won't be happening at all, after seeing all the people highly upset over the whole thing.

'Vaccination Passport' is the 'trigger' term being used. Larimer County asserts that they are in no way looking at implementing an initiative where persons would have to carry a document with their vaccination status on it, to access places.

They say that the mask mandate itself, and this 'exemption plan,' are the County's way of bringing up the vaccination rate, and lowering the amount of cases.

Say what they will, but many vocal people see it differently. According to The Coloradoan, a big protest is planned by those in the anti-vaccine community for November 1. That protest is just one of the ways that people in the county are showing their disdain for the idea.

After a hearing on Thursday, October 21, 2021, where more than 100 people showed up to provide their disagreements with the 'exemption plan,' the Larimer County Board of Commissioners voted to 'pause' it, which is what the Department of Health submitted.

However, in the end we may see businesses doing this anyway-- like many concert venues have taken up- where you have to show your vaccination card to gain entry.  They would meet with disgruntled patrons, but that's their right as a business.
