Fall is approaching. With Colorado's ever-changing forecast, it may not feel like it — but soon, we'll be in the thick of autumn colors, sweater weather, and Halloween festivities.

Although some may prefer apple cider or hot chocolate, we all know the true star of the season is pumpkin spice. Even though it's still warm out, chains like Starbucks and Ziggi's Coffee are already serving up Pumpkin Cream Cold Brews and Spicy Pumpkin Chais.

However, coffee isn't the only way to enjoy these fall flavors. There's another option, and it's perfect for Northern Colorado: beer.

The Front Range's many breweries are currently churning out their autumnal brews. Some are return favorites, like New Belgium Brewing's spicy Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin. Others, like Left Hand Brewing Co.'s Pumpkin Spice Latte Nitro, are new.

If you happen to be someone who doesn't like any pumpkin in your beer, there's no need to worry. Many Northern Colorado breweries are also paying tribute to the famous fall tradition of Oktoberfest.

Odell Brewing Co. is bringing back their "biscuity" Oktoberfest lager, and Maxline Brewing is serving up malty sweetness with their traditional German ale.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
