Each week, Townsquare Media, sponsored by FNBO, will be highlighting a Northern Colorado high school athlete as part of Townsquare Media’s High School MVP program. Each of these athletes has had an outstanding presence on the court or field and has been submitted or selected as our MVP of the week.

After four years on varsity and a .455 career batting average, senior Emma Pinkstaff and the Eaton High School varsity softball team have hung up their cleats for the season.

While the season may not have ended with a state title, the team's accomplishments, as well as Emma's individually, are nothing short of applaudable. Because of the leadership and performance put on by Emma, she has been named this week's Townsquare Media High School MVP!

Finishing the season with a 24-4 overall record, going 14-2 in league play, the Eaton Reds were a force all the way to the semifinal round of the Class 3A state tournament. Throughout the entire tournament, Emma led and performed the best way she knew how: in the batter's box.

Emma went 5 for 11 in the box, hitting a .545 average in the team's three games in the tournament. Throughout Eaton's season, Emma was also stellar in the outfield, recording only one error in 28 games played.

We asked Emma a few questions to reflect on her softball career at Eaton and advice she has for tackling the tough mental game that softball is.
