Each week, Townsquare Media, sponsored by FNBO, will be highlighting a Northern Colorado high school athlete as part of Townsquare Media’s High School MVP program. Each of these athletes has had an outstanding presence on the court or field and has been submitted or selected as our MVP of the week.

As one of the captains for the Poudre High School boy's varsity soccer team and helping lead his team to a 4-0 start to the season, there are a fair few reasons we've named Thane Latzig as our High School MVP for this week!

The junior midfielder notched a hat trick in Poudre High's 7-0 win against Greeley West on Thursday, Sept. 2. This is already Latzig's second hat trick of the season, scoring his first in the team's first game of the season against Pomona on Aug. 25.

In total, Latzig has already garnered nine goals on the season, and they aren't even into league play yet.

We asked Latzig a few questions to reflect on the team's start to the season and what's in store for him for his last two seasons at Poudre.
