When you think of natural disasters in the state of Colorado, one of the categories is top of mind. Tornadoes. At least that's what comes to my mind when I think of natural disasters in our state.

Weld County historically has seen the most tornadoes in Colorado, eclipsing second place, Washington County, by more than 120 incidents. Of course, hail, floods, and drought are also other natural disasters that can happen in the state of Colorado.

Colorado's eastern plains are part of Tornado Alley, so seeing a twister and softball size hail in some counties is not unheard of. Overall, Colorado is actually a pretty safe state when it comes to natural disasters.
